Philip McKinnon - Director/Senior Stylist
I began my career in hairdressing 21 years ago after being inspired by the industry as a teenager. Apprenticed to Brenda Elliott gave me six amazing years in which to hone skills alongside many expert stylists both on the floor and at competition level. Competition work was something I really enjoyed.
I left the bright lights of Rotorua for the even brighter lights of London and quickly became captivated by the fashion scene there. The 7 years I worked in London made me really lift my game to the next level as there was a diversity of cultures, hair types, and clientelle exposing me to new ways of doing things and giving me a depth of skills I would not have achieved in NZ.
Owning a business gives me the chance to develop a team who are professional, motivated and growing in knowledge and skills. It is a great joy sharing our passion in hairdressing and BLOW's reputation is founded on this team work.
Styling Tools: All hairdressing tools are important but my mind is where I find inspiration, and creation. From this I can develop an idea for a client and produce the result that they are very happy with.
Family, surfing, classic cars, fishing and gardening. All these things keep me rounded and inspired.

Scottie Orrell -- 5 stars Phil has been my hairdresser since 2010 & he always does a stella job!! I'm very picky in the way in which my hair is styled & Phil never fails to nail whatever look I'm going for every time. The rest of the team is always very welcoming & the atmosphere is nice relaxed. Definitely recommend Blow to anyone wanting a great hair day!
