MEET PHIL
CREATIVE DIRECTOR + OWNER
Since 1994, Phil’s journey in hairdressing has been a passionate dedication inspired by a family member already in the field. Witnessing their ability to transform people emotionally through hair sparked his own commitment to this craft.
Described as dedicated, passionate, and authentic, Phil thrives on delivering exceptional service to his clients, but also, connecting with the staff and encouraging them to do the same.
Phil's absolute favourite service isn’t specifically a hair service but is actually being able to create that warm, fuzzy feeling for his clients when they leave the salon. Phil says ”knowing I've made them feel good about themselves, or better than when they first walked in is the goal”. Over the years, he’s refined his skills, specialising in classic colouring and catering to a diverse clientele including short-haired females, those with thicker hair, and a significant male following.
Outside of work, Phil cherishes time spent with his family at our surf life-saving club in Omanu, where his children are actively involved in the social and close-knit environment. At Blow Hair Co, he thrives on the team environment in the same way and the opportunities for growth, not just for himself but for everyone, from our apprentices to seniors.
Teaching new stylists is one of Phil’s biggest passions. Watching them develop from apprentices to professionals brings him immense satisfaction. It's about fostering their progression and celebrating their achievements in this dynamic industry.
