BalayageThis highlighting technique is from a French term meaning to sweep or paint. Using freehand, the stylist paints bleach or hair colour just on the surface of your hair without saturating the entire section with colour. The result is soft, natural-looking, sun-kissed highlights that easily blend in as hair grows longer.
|
OmbréIn this hair colour technique, your root hair colour gradually fades into a much lighter hair colour at the ends, such as blonde. The Balayage technique is used to create the Ombré end look.

SombréSombre is the softer version of ombré, using less contrasting shades. Instead of dyeing tips two or three shades lighter, your colourist might lift strands one shade for a sunset effect.
It’s the most low-maintenance of all the looks, as it grows out entirely seamlessly, so if you’re shy about trying a dip-dye, this is your entry-level look. |
